Feb 24
  • Third container leaves Bright Hope headquarters containing: Food, 240 Tents, 2 Large tents, Hope Packs and Med Packs all sent to Haiti.
Feb 18
  • $1,000,000 worth of medical supplies have been air-freighted to Port-Au-Prince!
Feb 17
  • New Satellite communication system donated to Bright Hope. Equipment being airfreighted into Port-Au-Prince this week.

  • Rain has begun to destroy most make shift homes in Port-Au-Prince. Bright Hope staff is currently working with companies to ship tents to the area.

  • Bright Hope President, Craig Dyer, interviewed by Dan Rather (Journalist, News Anchor, Post and Producer- formally from CBS News) in Haiti!
  • Container of 128,000 food, medicines, sun ovens, water purification tablets and filters, etc. shipped and scheduled to arrive 2/26.

  • Container for Haiti is being loaded at our dock today.
Feb 4
  • John Dyer Partnership Liaison returns home from Haiti. 2 Containers of food and medical supplies ship out of Miami today.
Feb 2
  • Food Distribution made in Port-au-Prince and Tent City serving 342 families daily with food.
  • A new partner FoFo, a Registered Nurse and respected woman in the church community is providing organization and leadership to this group.
  • Food also distributed daily to 300+ people in Pastor Charles in his area of Port-au-Prince.
  • Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camp had 57 at the end of last week. Another 43 arrived on Monday - making the total 100 people receiving food in this camp daily.

  • Craig Dyer, President of Bright Hope begins planning a trip to Haiti with film crew.
Jan 28
  • Bright Hope obtains Solar Ovens donated to send to Haiti that can prepare 1,000 meals at a time. Family size ovens and shelter vendors being reserached.

  • Conference call from Haiti - speaker Mike Rutter Director of Partnerships and Pastor Jephthe Lucien of Pignon Ministries.
  • Medical Donation picked up by FooFoo for Port-au-Prince aid.
Jan 26
  • Large medical supply donation secured and 4 containers of food planned for shipment to Port-au-Prince and Pignon areas.
  • Daily feeding begins for 2 tent communities in Port-au-Prince
Jan 25
  • 140,000 meals are being distributed today as the container is received at the port.
  • Bright Hope seeking tent provider to assist with shelter for refugees.
Jan 22
  • Pignon, 79 miles north of Port-au-Prince has doubled in size from 35,000 to 65,000 people.
  • A counseling center has been set up to meet the needs of people both physically and psychologically, they are seeing as many as 60 people a day and growing. They are helping them with food, medical and spiritual care.

  • Bright Hope Staff Team in PAP accessing damage to churches and buildings. First pictures from the area are above.

  • Bright Hope Team convoys in to affected areas with several relief organizations.
  • Counseling Center Open.

  • Craig Dyer, President of Bright Hope speaks with US Department of State to gain assistance in release of our container in Port-au-Prince. Initial money sent to our partners has been used to save lives. Additional financial aid is being delivered.
Jan 18
  • Pastor Jephthe reports gasoline difficulties; high priced and watered down. He is able to save so many lives by providing people free transportation out of PAP, distributing food and water in areas officials would never think to go and organizing financial and counseling teams. He thanks the donors of Bright Hope for making these rescue efforts possible.

  • Bright Hope finalizes plans to send a support team to Haiti to work with local partners and to ensure safe delivery of our cargo container.
  • Local partner / pastor Jephthe Lucien confirms that his church has opened its doors to earthquake refugees.
  • Bright Hope Conference call with White House Administration Officials reporting on first response of the government and strategies for addressing critical needs of the Haiti people.

  • Partner Developer Jephthe begins relief efforts in both Port-au-Prince and Pignon.
