Deep poverty

can break a child’s spirit and humble a community. Poverty is on the rise. Today, close to one billion people around the world live on less than $1 a day. Due to the recent economic downturn, that number has grown by 74 million in 24 months.

But where there’s poverty, there’s also hope—Bright Hope. For more than 40 years, we’ve been addressing extreme poverty around the world with “boots on the ground” programs designed to lift people out of crisis and give them hope for the future.
