Micro Loans to Haiti

Many of you helped with the Nation Wide Campaign called “Dirt Cookies”. We are seeking to empower the families of Pignon to lift themselves out of poverty through the last portion of the Hope4Haiti Campaign.

Bright Hope is teaching Haitian’s to “fish”. By giving a small initial loan and providing training seminars on how to operate a business and farming, these families now have hope.

Building on the success of a micro-loan program started in Pignon in 2008, we would like to expand the program to include the families of the children in these schools. These loans will be used to plant gardens to provide food for their family.

Extra produce can be sold in local markets to provide needed money for medicines, a second set of clothing, or even pay for school fees for their children. There are multiple success stories from these micro-loans including this man pictured who began selling calling cards.

Through this church-based program, your gift is multiplied each time the loan is repaid, then loaned out again. You can fund a micro-loan for $120 (minimum donation is $30 to truly make an impact) that will make hope a reality for a family. Click 'Make a Hope4Haiti Donation' today! Frequently Asked Questions:
