Country / Region: Araucania Region, Chile
Project Summary:

The Mapuche Indian Church Network's mission is to improve the lives of the Mapuche Indians - among the poorest people in all of Chile, through economic development and evangelism.

Partner Overview

The Mapuche Indians, are among the poorest people in Chile and have the lowest health, job, and education rates in that area of the world. Collin Alto Church in the Araucania region of Chile believes that the mission of the Church is to be a blessing to the community. That's why in addition to preaching and teaching about the Good News of Jesus Christ they have reached out to other churches in the area and begun Mingako projects.

Bright Hope is proud to be partnering with these churches, collectively called the Mapuche Indian Church Network. From jam making to bee-keeping we have worked together to create income generating projects that significantly impact the lives of more than 500 Mapuche Indians. These new income generating activities keep families together. Husbands no longer have to travel far north for seasonal work. The projects are brining a sense of community to the region and empowering the marginalized Mapuche Indians.
