Christian Fellowship is embarking on a journey to train their students, future pastors, to be self sufficient, tent-makers like Paul. Ministering to such poor communities often means they are unable to provide for their own family from the churches tithe.

They are offering classes in candle making, vegetable gardens and sewing. In the future we plan to expand this program to include a microloan component. This training provides a lot of hope for these future kingdom workers.

Craig Dyer, CEO of Bright Hope is traveling to India in March. We're excited about his visit as he explores new ways for Bright Hope and Christian Fellowship to work together to bring Hope to the extreme poor and share the love of Jesus in Northern India.

One hot topic will be the new microloan proposal for pastors trained through Christian Fellowship. It's an exciting way for pastors to be able to provide for themselves while they minister to communities who cannot afford to support them.

This past July our Partnership Developer in India, James Das, met with founder Paul Thomas and core team members of Evangelical Social Action Forum (ESAF). They spent several days together sharing their hearts for the poor and finding common ground from which to work. James said the meetings went very well and he enjoyed his time there very much. It is our hope to form a partnership in which ESAF can help establish micro-loan programs with each one of our partners in India. We hope to start this program with Christian Fellowship. Isaac and Gloria Shaw, founders of Christian Fellowship, have been receiving training and vision for micro-loan programs and the powerful impact they have on communities. We believe it will be an instrumental tool to break the cycle of poverty in the villages of Northern India where they minister.
