A Message From C.H. Dyer, President/CEO - Winter 2016

Hoffman Estates, Ill."Merry Christmas!” These two simple words mean widely different things to different people. For a few in our nation, these words represent an exclusive greeting that they want eliminated and replaced with “Happy Holidays.”

For many in our country, “Merry Christmas” is a time-honored expression that is steeped in tradition that ties our Christian heritage and founding of our country, for religious freedom sake, into a greeting. For me, and almost every Christian, it is a reminder of how important it is to sacrifice and love one another. A reminder that Christ came to earth from Heaven; took on human form and sacrificed comfort and glory for our sake. This season and every year, when I wish someone a “Merry Christmas,” I want it to remind the recipient, and me, to love each other as Christ loves us - without condemnation, prejudice or conditions.

May the love of Christ, which permeates all boundaries, be proclaimed and felt by each person with every “Merry Christmas” greeting. So, to you and your family I say emphatically, “Merry Christmas!”
