Refugee Children Receive Parental Support

Nairobi, Kenya — To further support the children in the scholarship program in their studies, a meeting was held with the parents and guardians of the students to coach them in their role concerning their education. The parents were encouraged to provide their children with moral support and to make sure their children attend school regularly.

The Refugees in Kenya children's scholarship program is based mostly on performance. The children are required to maintain an average grade of C or higher to remain on the program. The children are regularly encouraged to do their best in their studies and most of the students performed very well on their last exams. With the encouragement from program leaders as well as support from the parents the children are better prepared to succeed in their educational endeavors.
