Country Update: Peru

Machu Picchu, Peru — Do you dream of visiting Machu Picchu? This ancient marvel, built by the Inca people in Peru, is visited by thousands of tourists every year. But did you know the Inca’s direct descendants, the Quechua Indians, are widely regarded as lower class and plagued with serious social and spiritual ills, like alcoholism and physical abuse?

Machu Picchu, Peru

Nothing holds more promise for the millions of Quechua people than helping their children discover their worth, their capabilities and that they can have a relationship with God.

That’s why this year, a local Bright Hope partner in Peru will translate 40 engaging Bible lessons into the Quechua language to be used in churches and eventually in public schools!

We are so excited to see how the local church will reach this people group through these precious children. Please pray for the translators, teachers, and most of all, the children!
