Samfya, Zambia — A leader from a Samfya church was told about an elderly lady, Godfridah, who found herself homeless after recent devastating flooding caused her hut to collapse. He found her sitting in front of her dilapidated home reading her Bible. It is unusual to find someone in the village with a Bible, so he asked what she was learning from the Word. Godfridah answered that she was looking for salvation.

Samfya, Zambia — Daniel was once a vulnerable student. He became supported by the Samfya Community of Care Providers (SCCP) and graduated high school. After graduation, he received a job as a cashier. In 2010, Daniel received support to take a class by correspondence from the University of Kwazulu-Natal for two years. He has completed one year and is now into his second. His major is Community Based Social Work with Children and Youth.

Samfya, Zambia — Last November, Samfya Community of Care Providers (SCCP) traveled around the local area to meet with all the church leaders and volunteers to discuss individual programs, sustainability of those programs through different stakeholders, and surveyed each church to determine how Home Based Care best fits into their existing church ministries.
