Apac, Uganda—Following the success of its microloan program for the extremely impoverished in Apac, Uganda, Bright Hope implemented the Asset Based Community Driven Development program, or ABCD workshop, on June 11 and 12, 2014. The ABCD workshop is designed to further a community’s development by helping it discover its strengths, skills, and passions. The ultimate hope for ABCD workshops is that each community, as well as each individual who participates, will move from a sense of deprivation and helplessness to an understanding that everyone has something to provide for the betterment of the community.
