C.H. Dyer

In 1993, C.H. Dyer succeeded his father, Kevin—who founded Bright Hope in 1968—as President of the organization. Raised in a missions-focused family, C.H.’s earliest memories involve his father preaching in churches about the desperate needs of impoverished and persecuted communities in Romania and Russia.

A pivotal moment in C.H.’s calling occurred when he spent a summer assisting a church in a Filipino slum. Confronted by extreme poverty but inspired by the steadfast faith he witnessed, C.H. felt compelled to dedicate his life to serving those in greatest need, in the name of Jesus.

Over the years, engaging with church leaders in slums and rural villages across Africa, Asia, and Latin America have reinforced C.H.’s conviction that empowering these congregations to run high-impact poverty-alleviation programs can break generational cycles of hardship. “If we can empower and train these fledgling churches to run excellent micro-finance, relief, and evangelistic programs that lift people out of poverty and offer eternal Hope,” C.H. says, “millions more people can be freed from generational poverty.”

C.H. holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing and a Master of Arts in Theology from Talbot Seminary, Biola University. Upon entering full-time ministry, he expanded Bright Hope’s approach to include economic development and income-generation projects. Under his guidance, Bright Hope’s transformation model was developed, refined and expanded widely.

C.H. and his wife, Anne, reside in the Chicagoland area of Illinois, USA. They have three grown children and two grandchildren. Together, they travel extensively, encouraging and partnering with Christians and churches throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and in over 100 other countries.
