Many families in Uganda and Zambia are on the verge of starvation and in desperate need of food, shelter, and Hope. But a flock of chickens can make all the difference in the world!
As a Bright Hope Ally, you probably already know that chickens can change lives! When an impoverished family receives a chicken, they don’t just get a cute pet. They receive an opportunity to start a business and provide healthy protein for their kids.
NUTRITION
Eggs and chicken are a great source of protein
INCOME
Selling eggs and offspring provides the family with an ongoing source of revenue
EDUCATION
Extra income allows families to pay for things like their children’s schooling
GIVING BACK
This is SO exciting. Everybody who gets chickens gives some of the offspring to another family in need...so the impact is exponential!
Meet Caroline, a 68-year-old widow who cares for her five grandkids because their parents can’t. It’s tough to raise a family on a widow’s salary!
Caroline is one of many other grandmothers in her community who take care of their grandkids with little to no support. These precious children represent the poorest, most vulnerable in their community. Many families like Caroline’s survive on the small crops they grow. But when crops are off season, these grandmas struggle to provide enough healthy nutrition for their grandkids.
But when Caroline received five chickens, she started a business selling eggs and can now provide for her grandchildren!
Would you join forces with us and give $30 to purchase 5 chickens for desperate families in Uganda and Zambia?
In Caroline’s words, “As their grandmother, I have to come in to help. That is why these chickens are very important. They are going to help me take care of my grandchildren.”
The only problem is that thousands of impoverished families in Uganda and Zambia have not received chickens yet. They’re desperately waiting for someone to give them the chance to break out of poverty, feed their kids, and begin a new future!
Can you give $30 or more to help vulnerable families in Uganda and Zambia?
Your donation will bless vulnerable families like Caroline’s, and equip Bright Hope to meet other urgent needs.
Don’t wait! Give chickens today!
