Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Many of our partner churches in rural Haiti deal first-hand with all the problems common to extreme poverty—limited access to clean water, a lack of employment opportunities, and devastating food insecurity.
On the rocky plain of Trou du Nord in northern Haiti lies Juchereau, a community with 5,000 inhabitants, many of whom love God and express themselves through music, painting, sports, and dance.
Unfortunately, extreme poverty has engulfed Juchereau. As income opportunities dwindle, families are sinking even deeper into deprivation.
But you can reach out your hand and pull our brothers and sisters in Juchereau out!
And do you want to know how you can help them??? By giving them goats!
Along with our partner church in Juchereau, Bright Hope has developed a goat breeding program that promises to improve the standard of living for the entire community!
This microfinance project will provide training and opportunities for 52 individuals to start small businesses breeding goats. In addition, participants can join a savings program that will teach them to manage the money they earn from their business.
This project aims to increase family incomes, which will enable them to:
Your generous gift will bring Hope to farmers and their families and will, in time, expand to more community members. It will also ensure adequate food sources for this impoverished community.
Your faithful giving will help fund this empowering microfinance opportunity in Haiti. And if this receives full funding, additional resources will go toward similar strategic projects.
