“Different areas of business tend to look at the [nonprofit] field with confusion about how nonprofits actually work, whether they should be making a profit or what kind of causes they support,” says a recent article by the Forbes Nonprofit Council.

They went on to say that this has led to misunderstandings and myths about the sector. So, 10 members of the council wrote about some of the most common myths—and ways to adjust those perceptions.
