The Best Way to Overcome Extreme Poverty

At Bright Hope, our work to empower churches to break the cycle of extreme poverty in their communities must continue. With more than 720 million people trapped living on less than $2 a day, they need your investment. Together we can share sustainable hope.

While we rejoice with our partner churches in Jinja that have graduated to self-sufficiency and no longer need our financial support, our ministry across Uganda continues to grow. At the end of 2023, we finished our second year of training with nineteen churches in the community of Luuka.

In Luuka and in all the communities where we work, biblical training forms the foundation for all our programs. Whether our church partners are feeding the hungry, equipping farmers or providing scholarships to teenagers, we strive to develop devoted disciples of Christ.

In all our programs and projects, Bright Hope trains our church partners to demonstrate the love of Jesus in tangible ways by serving the extreme poor regardless of their religious background. Our ultimate hope is that everyone we encounter will hunger to know Christ and come to salvation.

And you make this possible by your faithful partnership.

God has already started changing hearts in Luuka.

Church members have shared:

“After the first marriage training, I began counseling married couples in our area. I have become a good wife to my husband since we learned how to be the light of Christ in the community. Now everyone calls me to mediate their marital issues.” ~ Anent Nabirye

“I was challenged by what was taught. So, I went home and bought four chickens and they have multiplied to twelve. I sell eggs to meet basic needs for salt and soap. This training has already worked in my life, and I know it will benefit the rest of the community. May God bless everyone who funds this training.” ~ Joseph Kasadha

You can end extreme poverty for one family in 2024!

We’ve listened to the pains, hopes and dreams of the churches in Luuka and believe God has great plans to transform the community in 2024. Right now, Luuka represents one of the poorest districts in eastern Uganda with skyrocketing numbers of teenage pregnancies and hunger. But with your generous partnership, parents will soon be able to educate their daughters, freeing them from dark futures in unhealthy relationships. Your gift will empower churches to leverage their heavenly blessings and increase their impact.

In 2024, you can resolve to invest in the lives of impoverished families. Please get involved today.
