Help Us Develop Disciples Around the World

Biblical training and discipleship form the foundation for all our programs across all the countries where we work. Whether our church partners are feeding the hungry, equipping farmers, or providing scholarships to teenagers, our priority is to develop devoted disciples of Christ while creating a discipling culture.

In all our programs and projects, Bright Hope strives to demonstrate the love of Jesus in tangible ways by serving the extreme poor regardless of their religious background. Our ultimate hope is that everyone we encounter will hunger to know Christ and come to salvation.

That is what happened in Maria’s life through her church in Bolivia.

Faithful Women Will Change the World

According to a March 2022 UN article, women play a huge role in the transformation of communities. We can see the truth of this article through the work of our partner church in Oruro, Bolivia.

To financially support their outreach to poor children and teens in the community, the church opened a bakery. Maria, a young mother and church member, started working in the church bakery.

Although Maria didn’t have much baking experience, her job allowed her to enroll her kids in the church’s Children’s Ministry. Most of all, Maria wanted to serve God, disciple her kids, and develop her baking skills.

Maria shared: “I started to work at the bakery to help the church and especially the children. But I did not imagine I would see so many miracles of God in my life during that time.”

Not only did Maria receive a bonus on the bakery’s sales, but she also received the blessing of spiritual growth as she poured out her life to serve God.

Creating a Discipling Culture in the Family

In time, Maria and her husband grew in their faith and took the step of baptism. And soon after, their 8-year-old and 4-year-old daughters also wanted to obey the Lord’s command to get baptized.

Maria expressed: “The Lord worked a lot through a period of prayer with my husband so that he could find a job. And just two days ago my husband found one! Therefore, now we want to serve God together. I will continue thanking the Lord and I will continue serving Him.”

God works through faithful women like Maria who seek His kingdom first and encourage their families to follow the Lord together.

Bright Hope’s church partners in Bolivia depend on the leadership of faithful women to care for 1,613 impoverished children and teens. When women willingly serve the Lord, we see miracles in the church and in their personal lives.
